The Poker Camp congratulates Dylan Simpson

Dylan won his seat playing on Bodog.com, investing $27 into a preliminary satellite tournament.

Dylan has been playing for more than a decade in card rooms but has only been playing online for a few months. Dylan’s dedication and perseverance finally paid off. Dylan invested $27 into a preliminary multi-table tournament which paid out in a $250 tournament credit into the main tournament which paid out 1 seat ($12,000 package) for every 48 players.

“Even though I’m busy working during The Poker Camp seminar, I get the chance to talk with Antonio about poker strategies. I contribute my recent success to Antonio Esfandiari. He has opened my eyes to advanced tournament play and I can’t imagine getting as far as I did without his help,” says Dylan Simpson, co-founder of The Poker Camp.

The Poker Camp congratulates Pasha Esfandiary

The Poker Camp Crew-

First and foremost, I want to thank The Poker Camp for giving me a fair shot in the WSOP ’05. I am Antonio Esfandiari’s little brother. When I saw my brother win 1.4 Million at the L.A. Commerce Casino, I wanted to pick up poker. I asked my brother to teach me and all he said to me was come to The Poker Camp.

Thank you again,
Pasha Esfandiary

Going into The Poker Camp, I already thought I was an expert on poker (as we all do), after coming out of The Poker Camp I realized how little I knew before I attended the Camp.

Learning tips from the pros and experts gave me a completely different outlook on how I played my game. I had never played any big tournaments before The Poker Camp and shortly after I played one satellite with 360 people to try to win a seat into the big one, my first satellite in which I used the skills that The Poker Camp taught me and ultimately won the seat.

The same goes for the WSOP, I used the skills I learned to place 371st out of 5,600 people and ended up taking home $18,000. All I can say is if you want a head start into poker tournaments I would definitely attend The Poker Camp. It was a great investment.

The Poker Camp congratulates Dmitriy Eidelman

Hi Juli,
I just came back from LV after playing WSOP 2005 main event. I finished 132nd out of 5,619 players from 40 countries.

I really think that my achievement was possible due to the knowledge and experience I got by participating in The Poker Camp seminar. Keep up the good work!

Best regards,

Weekends with the pro’s coming soon to Western New York!

The Poker Campfire

As the poker bug is beginning to spread across the nation, The Poker Camp join forces with Rochester Hold’em to offer the first of its kind poker seminars for poker enthusiasts. The Poker Camp is a new venture conceived by Anthony and Juli Beebe and Dylan Simpson, veteran poker players who saw a niche for poker enthusiasts seeking out their dreams of playing the final table at a major tournament. Rochester Hold’em is Rochester’s largest poker school.

“Poker is a sport that truly is available to anyone. While other sports involve a great deal of time mastering skills in order to merely play against the professionals, an average player can compete against a poker professional simply by putting up the entry fee,” says Dylan Simpson, co-founder of The Poker Camp. “Poker players, young and old alike, can get the chance to win a major tournament. Their chances of achieving their dream are even better than winning a major golf tournament or becoming a professional.”

Dedicated to the education of poker players, The Poker Camp aims to increase the poker enthusiast’s skills and enjoyment of tournament poker through educational seminars while increasing the opportunity to make it to the final table. The Poker Camp seminars are two-day events that cover basic and advanced skills, betting strategies and feature a workshop with a major poker professional.

The Poker Camp

Educating Poker Enthusiasts Through Seminars

The Poker Camp was founded March 2004, by poker veterans, Dylan Simpson and Anthony Beebe, to promote and advance the education of poker players through a series of educational seminars. By leveraging expert resources within the poker community, The Poker Camp enriches the educational experience while maintaining the entertaining spirit of the game. The Poker Camp seminars are two-day getaways including poker workshops, practice play, and a tournament with graduation prizes.

Seminars cover basic and advanced skills, betting strategies and feature a workshop with a major poker professional. The seminars feature some of poker’s renowned professionals sharing their skills and stories to help participants achieve their dreams of playing and winning at the final table.

The Rochester Final Table Seminar

The Rochester Final Table Seminar will be held at the Rochester Hold’em facility, located minutes from historical downtown Rochester, New York. This event does not include lodging and/or air fare. We will be happy to assist you with your lodging and other transportation needs.

You’ll start Friday with an in-depth workshop on poker strategies and techniques taught by Lee Jones, author of the best selling book “Winning Low Limit Hold’em”. The program is designed to listen and learn from Lee, but this is not a regular school! Shout it out and interrupt the teacher! Ask questions and learn from the best.

After lunch, there will by a Q & A session with Lee. You’ll finish the day with hands-on mini-workshops taught by Lee. You will sit at poker tables and practice “example hands”. Ask the Lee what to do in a non-competitive environment. Learn from the Lee and the coaches at the table and discuss poker with your classmates. This is your chance to talk poker strategies.

Saturday, we will hold a Q & A session with Lee to go over what you learned from the previous day, followed by our graduation tournament where you’ll get to put your new poker skills into action. You will be competing against the rest of your classmates for a chance of a life time! We are awarding the three top students, sponsorship exemption to a local casino tournament that will be announced. After the graduation tournament we will have our “Black Envelope” game, so stick around for the fun.

Rochester Hold’em, The City’s Largest Poker School

Rochester Hold’em, the city’s largest poker school, has teamed up with veteran poker players to offer a new, intensive seminar.  Dylan Simpson and the husband-and-wife team of Anthony and Juli Beebe have created a course to assist local poker players in their quest to end up at a tournament final table.

The Poker Camp’s first seminar at Rochester Hold’em (October 21 – 22) will feature Lee Jones, a 20-year poker veteran. Lee serves as the  poker room manager at PokerStars.com and is the author of Winning Low Limit Hold’em. In addition to coaching participants during the seminar, Lee will offer his skills and advice throughout a real-time practice tournament.

Rochester Hold’em constructed a 4500 square foot state of the art facility for both the experienced and beginner card player in mind. “It’s really exciting to offer our first, two-day seminar with The Poker Camp,” said Matt Gabel, Owner and Partner, Rochester Hold’em. Rochester Hold’em’s philosophy is to offer special teaching events in an exciting, yet comfortable atmosphere.

The Poker Camp’s first seminar at Rochester Hold’em features Lee Jones, a 20-year poker veteran, poker room manager at PokerStars.com and author of Winning Low Limit Hold’em, to coach participants during the workshops and practice tournament. “I’m delighted to be working with The Poker Camp people again.” says Lee Jones. “We had a wildly successful seminar in San Jose, and two of our students turned their lessons into seats at the Shooting Stars Tournament (a WPT event) at Bay 101. The Poker Camp is a wonderful combination of fun and learning and I’m looking forward to our seminar in Rochester.”
